Brought to life by Crows Nest’s post-war and interwar heritage, the architecture celebrates craftsmanship through sculptural brickwork and refined geometry. Striking edges and scalloped detailing soften the building’s form, while metalwork and greenery introduce texture and depth.

The surrounding post-war and art deco buildings of Crows Nest inspired a vision defined by craftsmanship and warmth. We imagined a fine-grain masonry cocoon, where curved clay brick forms wrap around contemporary interiors. This interplay between traditional texture and refined geometry creates a residence that is nostalgic and distinctly modern.
Crows Nest’s village charm and interconnected grid of leafy streets informed a design that balances solidity and softness. Facing Chandos Street, Norwich engages with its heritage context while opening to the laneways beyond. The building’s edges are refined with crafted details, embedding it seamlessly into the suburb’s evolving architectural fabric.
The facade celebrates sculpted form and material depth. A scalloped brick awning creates an inviting entry, while traditional sill heights and soft curves reference post-war craftsmanship. Three-aspect layouts enhance natural light and views, complemented by lush parapets and intricate brick detailing that lend Norwich a tactile, enduring architectural identity.

Framed by soft light and refined materiality, the dining area fosters intimacy and sophistication. A sculpted curved island bench anchors the space, forming a natural gathering point at the heart of the home. Designed for shared experiences, the room transitions effortlessly from relaxed brunches to elegant evening meals, all whilst encompassed by the greenery beyond.
As daylight fades, the curated bar comes to life. Stone and glass catch the last traces of the day, as curved detailing houses an exquisite display, climate-controlled wine fridge and ample storage. It’s a setting made for conversation and connection, where a simple pour becomes a ritual and evenings stretch into the night with guests staying a little longer.
Unfolding as a place to gather, unwind and connect, natural light spills across the open-plan living area, illuminating a carefully composed symphony of materials and textures. A seamless indoor-outdoor flow extends to the generous balcony, creating an idyllic setting for entertaining and quiet reflection alike.
Presenting an artisan’s touch, the master bedroom is enveloped by soft light and tactile detail. Gentle tones and layered textures enrich the atmosphere with understated luxury. Generous proportions and crafted joinery enhance everyday rituals, while the adjoining ensuite and walk-in robe form an intimate retreat devoted to rest and renewal.

We wanted to create a timeless residence that offers a strong sense of address along the tree-lined avenue of Chandos Street. The design draws upon the suburb’s rich architectural history while introducing a refined modernity. Natural materials entwine the building within its surrounds, forming a contemporary heritage that feels inherently connected to place.
Post-war masonry and early twentieth-century craftsmanship informed the project’s architectural language. The solidity of the brick facade celebrates permanence, while subtle detailing evokes the artistry of traditional construction. This enduring material palette allows Norwich to feel established from the outset—respectful of the suburb’s heritage yet firmly positioned within a contemporary context.



The sense of arrival at Norwich begins within each residence, where curved walls draw the eye upward, introducing a feeling of grandeur and calm.
